About The Film
A collaboration between first time filmmaker (and protagonist!), Mikah Meyer, and industry veteran James 'Q' Martin, Miss Adventure is a mix of social media influencer era + golden age of adventure filmmaking expertise.
The entire film was made possible not by brands, but by donations from viewers like YOU. With the majority of funding coming from little old church ladies around the USA who donated after hearing Mikah preach/sing and watching the film made about him, Canyon Chorus, that made the Banff Mountain Film Festival 2024-2025 World Tour.

Meet The Team
Mikah Meyer - Executive Producer, Director, Asst. Editor

Adventurer Mikah Meyer grew up on the plains of Nebraska, exploring the outside world via the Travel Channel and hoping to see someone like him on screen. Now, he gets to provide the outdoorsman representation he wished for, working with brands and organizations to increase LGBTQ+ inclusion in adventure culture. He uses a Masters in Classical Singing to perform shows about the queer outdoors experience and his journey to America’s 400+ National Park Service sites.

James "Q" Martin - Executive Producer, Director
Q is an acclaimed adventure photographer and award-winning filmmaker whose work has been featured worldwide. Inquisitive, spirited and dedicated to regional and international conservation and social efforts, Q has traveled extensively throughout the American Southwest and to 35 countries documenting the stories of world-class athletes, artists, conservationists, filmmakers and scientists who inspire him.

Paige Benner - Editor

Paige has worked as a Producer, Editor, and Assistant Editor on documentary, editorial, and branded projects from feature length and episodic work to short form content built for social media. She loves finding the pockets of laughter and moments of vulnerability that make a story feel human. She has worked with brands like Travel Oregon, American Journalism Project, HGTV, and Magnolia Network on projects that have earned recognition from the National Daytime Emmy Awards, and others that have received millions of views on YouTube.

Derek Dodge - Director of Photography, Producer

Derek combines a cinematographer’s visual instinct with a journalist’s curiosity, building trust quickly in the field and capturing moments that feel honest and lived in. His feature documentary Hurley, executive produced by Patrick Dempsey, premiered at the Toronto Inside Out Film Festival and later streamed on Hulu. With more than two decades in film and television, his work has appeared across major platforms including CNN, HBO, PBS, Discovery, BBC, MTV, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video.

Chris Cresci - Cinematographer, Editor

Chris is a filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon, and the Director of the 2024 Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival and 2024-2025 Banff World Tour film, "Canyon Chorus" about the protagonist of Miss Adventure, Mikah Meyer. Chris is an experienced shooter and editor, he works to bring a cinematic aesthetic to the nonfiction form - telling stories of real people that stick with audiences, and honor their subjects. He has worked with brands like Airbnb and The Home Depot, and his work has been featured on Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week, The Atlantic, and at film festivals around the world.
